HARD POWER
Hard power refers to coercive tactics, including the threat or use of armed forces, economic pressure, sanctions, assassination, and subterfuge. It is the use of military and economic means to influence the behavior or interests of other political bodies. Unlike soft power, which relies on cultural or economic influence, hard power is more immediate and aggressive.
SOFT POWER
Soft power is the ability to influence others through attraction and persuasion rather than coercion or force. It involves shaping the preferences of others through cultural, ideological, or diplomatic appeal. This concept is crucial in international relations, as it allows countries to achieve their goals by co-opting rather than coercing. Examples of soft power include cultural exchanges, diplomacy, and the promotion of values that resonate with other nations.
